Amazon Q4 2026: The Deadlines Still Ahead, and What Each One Costs You
Amazon's Q4 2026 calendar, updated for late September: BFCM inventory cutoffs, the October 20 deal deadline, peak fees starting October 15, and how to price deals on peak math.

TL;DR
- The Prime Big Deal Days submission and inventory deadlines have passed. The event itself runs October 6 and 7.
- What's still open: AWD inventory for Black Friday Week and Cyber Monday must arrive by October 14, BFCM deals must be submitted by October 20, and FBA inventory must arrive by October 21 (minimal splits) or October 28 (Amazon-optimized splits).
- Holiday peak fulfillment fees apply from October 15, 2026 to January 14, 2027, based on the date a unit ships, with the 3.5% fuel and logistics surcharge on top.
- The practical risk most coverage skips: your BFCM deals will be sold, and shipped, entirely inside the peak fee window. A deal that worked in July can lose money in November. Run the per-unit check below before you submit.
The real question: what can you still do, and is it worth doing?
If you're reading this in late September, you're not asking "what are Amazon's Q4 dates?" You're asking two sharper questions:
- Which deadlines can I still hit, and how much runway do I actually have?
- Will the deals I submit for Black Friday and Cyber Monday actually make money once peak fees kick in?
The dates are the easy part. The second question is where Q4 profit is won or lost, so most of this post is about that.
Quick recap: what Amazon announced
Amazon published its Holiday 2026 guidance in a Seller Central announcement titled "Holiday 2026: Same fees, same eligibility, earlier deadlines." The short version:
- Deal fees are unchanged from Prime Day. Best Deals, Lightning Deals, and Prime Exclusive Price Discounts cost a $100 upfront fee per promotion plus 1.5% of promotional sales, with the variable portion capped at $5,000. The $50 early-submission discount expired on August 5 (Prime Big Deal Days) and September 5 (BFCM).
- Peak fulfillment fees are unchanged too. The per-unit increase over non-peak rates averages $0.32, the same as last year, and applies to FBA, Remote Fulfillment with FBA, Multi-Channel Fulfillment, and Buy with Prime. The 3.5% fuel and logistics surcharge, in place since spring, applies on top.
- Inventory deadlines moved earlier. Amazon warns that fulfillment centers focus on receiving holiday inventory in September and October, then shift to processing customer orders in November and December, so capacity tightens.
- Prime Big Deal Days prices won't hurt your BFCM deal price. Promotional prices from the October event are excluded from the 30-day and 60-day lookback Amazon uses to set maximum BFCM deal prices.
Amazon later confirmed Prime Big Deal Days for October 6 and 7, 2026.

| September 5 | BFCM early-submission discount ($50 off) | Closed |

| September 16 | FBA arrival for Prime Big Deal Days (Amazon-optimized splits) | Closed |

Still ahead
| Date | Deadline or event | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| October 6 to 7 | Prime Big Deal Days | 48-hour event |
| October 14 | AWD arrival for Black Friday Week and Cyber Monday | Inventory must be received, not just shipped |
| October 15 | Holiday peak fulfillment fees begin | Applies to units that ship on or after this date |
| October 20 | BFCM deal submissions close | Last day to submit Black Friday Week and Cyber Monday deals |
| October 21 | FBA arrival for BFCM (minimal shipment splits) | Inventory must be received |
| October 28 | FBA arrival for BFCM (Amazon-optimized shipment splits) | Inventory must be received |
| November 27 | Black Friday | |
| November 30 | Cyber Monday | |
| January 14, 2027 | Holiday peak fees end | Non-peak rates resume January 15 |
Two details worth underlining:
- Every inventory date is an arrival date. "Arrive by October 28" means received at Amazon, not handed to a carrier on October 28.
- Minimal splits cost you a week. Choosing minimal shipment splits (fewer destinations, with a placement fee) moves your BFCM deadline from October 28 to October 21. Same shipment, seven fewer days.
Your runway, counted from today
As of September 22, here's how much time is actually left:
| Deadline | Days from Sept 22 | Suggested "land by" target | Ship-by date |
|---|---|---|---|
| AWD arrival (Oct 14) | 22 | September 30 to October 7 | Land-by date minus your transit time |
| BFCM deal submission (Oct 20) | 28 | Submit by early October | Not applicable |
| FBA minimal splits (Oct 21) | 29 | October 7 to 14 | Land-by date minus your transit time |
| FBA optimized splits (Oct 28) | 36 | October 14 to 21 | Land-by date minus your transit time |
The "land by" column builds in a one-to-two-week buffer before each deadline, because receiving slows during September and October. For AWD sellers, that means your realistic target is next week, not mid-October. Plug in your own carrier transit times to get your ship-by date.
The part most Q4 guides skip: price your BFCM deals on peak economics
Here's the trap. Most sellers build their deal math on the fees they see today. But Amazon charges fulfillment fees when a unit leaves the fulfillment center, not when the order is placed. That creates a split between the two big events:
- Prime Big Deal Days (Oct 6 to 7): most orders ship before October 15, so they generally fall under non-peak fulfillment rates.
- Black Friday Week and Cyber Monday: every unit ships inside the peak window, with the peak increase and the 3.5% surcharge applied.
So a discount that was profitable in October can be marginal or negative in November, even at the same price.
The overlooked cost: the $100 upfront fee on low-volume deals
The deal fee has two parts, and the fixed part behaves very differently depending on how many units the deal sells. Spread across units, the effective per-unit deal fee looks like this for a hypothetical $24 deal price:
| Units sold during the deal | $100 upfront fee per unit | 1.5% variable fee per unit | Total deal fee per unit |
|---|---|---|---|
| 25 | $4.00 | $0.36 | $4.36 |
| 100 | $1.00 | $0.36 | $1.36 |
| 400 | $0.25 | $0.36 | $0.61 |
| 1,000 | $0.10 | $0.36 | $0.46 |
With the early-submission discount gone, every BFCM deal now carries the full $100. On a low-velocity ASIN, that fixed fee can cost more per unit than the peak fulfillment increase itself.
A five-step deal check before October 20
For each ASIN you plan to submit:
- Pull the peak fulfillment fee for that ASIN from the Revenue Calculator, Profit Analytics dashboard, or Fee and Economics Preview Report, where Amazon has published peak rates.
- Add the 3.5% surcharge to the fulfillment fee (it's calculated on the fee, not the selling price).
- Estimate realistic deal units, using your last comparable event, not your best-case forecast.
- Add the per-unit deal fee using the table above: $100 divided by expected units, plus 1.5% of the deal price.
- Compare against your deal-price contribution margin after referral fees, product cost, and planned ad spend. If the number is thin, either raise the deal price, drop the ASIN from the deal, or keep it at full price and support it with ads instead.
Two other levers worth using:
- Use Prime Big Deal Days as a test. Because October deal prices are excluded from the BFCM lookback, you can run an October deal without lowering your November maximum deal price. Watch which ASINs actually move, then decide your BFCM submissions and quantities before October 20.
- Consolidate weak deals. If several low-volume ASINs each need their own deal, the fixed fee repeats for every promotion. Concentrate deal budget on the ASINs with enough velocity to spread the $100.
What to do this week
Inventory
- Confirm your shipment option (minimal or Amazon-optimized splits), because it decides whether your deadline is October 21 or October 28.
- If you use AWD, treat the next seven to ten days as your real shipping window.
- Check what's already in transit and when it's expected to be received, not just shipped.
Deals
- List every ASIN you're considering for BFCM and run the five-step check above.
- Submit by early October so you're not relying on October 20 itself.
Margins
- Reprice any Q4 promotions and ad budgets against peak fulfillment costs plus the surcharge.
- Remember that storage costs typically rise from October through December as well, so excess inventory has a higher carrying cost in Q4.
FAQ
What is the Amazon FBA inventory deadline for Black Friday 2026?

Ship date. A unit that ships from an Amazon fulfillment center on or after October 15 is charged at the peak rate, even if the order was placed earlier.
How much do Amazon deals cost for Black Friday 2026?
Best Deals, Lightning Deals, and Prime Exclusive Price Discounts cost $100 upfront per promotion plus 1.5% of promotional sales, with the variable portion capped at $5,000.

When is Prime Big Deal Days 2026?
October 6 and 7, 2026.
What happens if my inventory arrives after the deadline?
Amazon continues receiving it, but it may not be processed in time to carry the Prime badge during the event.
Bottom line
By late September, the Q4 calendar has shifted from planning to execution. The Prime Big Deal Days deadlines are behind you, and the BFCM window closes over just two weeks in October: AWD on the 14th, peak fees on the 15th, deal submissions on the 20th, and FBA arrivals on the 21st or 28th.
The dates are the easy part. The sellers who come out of Q4 with real profit are the ones who price their November deals on November costs. Run the numbers on every ASIN before October 20, get inventory landed early rather than on the deadline, and let the October event tell you which products deserve your Black Friday budget.
